Stefan Kühne (born August 15, 1980 in Wiesbaden ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach . The midfielder played a total of 38 games in the 2nd Bundesliga for Mainz 05 and Carl Zeiss Jena .
Career
Stefan Kühne played in his youth at SV Biebrich 1919 and SpVgg Sonnenberg . In 1998 he moved to 1. FSV Mainz 05 , where he played in the second team until 2004. In the 2003/04 season he also made three appearances in the second Bundesliga for the professional team.
For the 2004/05 season he moved to the regional league team Holstein Kiel , where he played until December 2005 and played 32 league games. From 2006 to 2008 he was under contract with FC Carl Zeiss Jena , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2006 and was relegated in the following season. In the 2008/09 season he played for Rot-Weiss Essen , where he played 31 regional league games and scored five goals. From June 2009 he trained with the VDV (Association of Contract Footballers) and was without a club.
On October 22, 2009, he returned to his former club, FC Carl Zeiss Jena , with whom he signed a contract until summer 2010. In the summer break of 2010, he signed a one-year contract with the regional league team Preußen Münster until summer 2011. After winning the championship in 2011 and moving up to the third division, he extended it for another two years. At the same time he also took over the captaincy . After the 2013/14 season he left SC Preußen and became Marc Fascher's assistant coach at Rot-Weiss Essen. Both were released at the end of March 2015. In the 2015/16 season, Kühne played for the Southwest League club Fortuna Mombach . He then trained part-time for the U19 team of SV Wehen Wiesbaden until summer 2019 .
Today Kühne works as a wholesaler at a freight forwarding company at Frankfurt Airport and has been training the Hessen league club SV Rot-Weiß Hadamar since the 2019/20 season .
