Stefan Nowak (graphic designer)

Stefan Nowak (* 1967 ) is a German graphic designer and exhibition designer .

Life

Stefan Nowak studied perfumery and food technology in London and Lemgo, then communication design at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences with Christof Gassner and Peter von Kornatzki and at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences with Klaus Hesse and Uwe Loesch .

Together with Petra Knyrim , he has been managing director of the design office nowakteufelknyrim (NTK) for communication and exhibition design in Düsseldorf since 1994 with branches in Berlin and Munich. nowakteufelknyrim (NTK) is responsible, among other things, for the permanent exhibition in the Money Museum of the Deutsche Bundesbank Frankfurt, for the Museum of Bathing Culture in Zülpich, for the redesign of the photography and film department in the Deutsches Museum as well as for innovative guidance and orientation systems, etc. a. for the city of Düsseldorf and the University Library of Münster .

Since 1996 Stefan Nowak has been teaching typography, information design and exhibition design, alternately at various universities in Germany, most recently at the University of Wuppertal . He is best known through workshops and publications on the subject of orientation and communication in space.

In 2001 he was awarded the Prime Minister's Prize of the Japan Design Foundation for the Pilon guidance system. In 2007 he was awarded the design prize of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

He lives in Düsseldorf .
