Petra Knyrim

Petra Knyrim (* 1967 ) is a German graphic designer and typographer .

Life

Petra Knyrim studied communication design and typography at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences with Christof Gassner and Peter von Kornatzki and at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences with Klaus Hesse and Uwe Loesch .

Together with Stefan Nowak , she founded the nowakteufelknyrim (NTK) office for communication and exhibition design in Düsseldorf in 1994 with branches in Berlin and Munich. Among other things, the agency is responsible for the permanent exhibition in the Money Museum of the Deutsche Bundesbank Frankfurt, for the Museum of Bathing Culture in Zülpich, for the redesign of the photography and film department in the Deutsches Museum as well as for innovative guidance and orientation systems, etc. a. for the city of Düsseldorf and the University Library of Münster .

Petra Knyrim has received numerous national and international awards. In 2001 she was awarded the Prime Minister's Prize of the Japan Design Foundation for the Pilon signage system . In 2007 she was awarded the design prize of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. She writes articles and books

She lives in Düsseldorf .
