Stefan Schwartze (born May 23, 1974 in Bad Oeynhausen ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and member of the Bundestag in the 19th German Bundestag .

education and profession

Stefan Schwartze grew up in Vlotho, East Westphalia, in the Herford district and still lives there today. He completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic. Then he passed his high school diploma . Before working as a member of the Bundestag , he worked as an industrial mechanic at Herbert Kannegiesser GmbH in Vlotho.

Public offices and politics

In 1991 Schwartze joined the metal industry union . He has been a member of the SPD since 1994. From 1999 to 2009 Schwartze was a member of the district council in the Herford district . From 2004 Schwartze was deputy chairman of the SPD district parliamentary group. In 2006 he became chairman of the SPD district association. During his activity as deputy chairman, he was a member of the administrative board of the Herford Clinic .

He is a member of the voluntary fire brigade of the city of Vlotho, the workers' welfare and in the Vlotho alliance against the Collegium Humanum .

In the 2009 Bundestag election he was elected in constituency 134 (Herford - Minden-Lübbecke II) as a direct candidate in the 17th German Bundestag . After the redistribution of the constituencies for the 2013 federal election, Stefan Schwartze is now directly elected member of constituency 133 (Herford - Minden-Lübbecke II - i.e. for the Herford district and the city of Bad Oeynhausen ). Schwartze was a full member of the Family, Seniors, Women and Youth Committee and the Petitions Committee . He was also a deputy member of the Committee on Food and Agriculture in the 18th Bundestag . In the 2017 federal election , Schwartze was able to win the constituency again and move into the Bundestag as a direct candidate.
