Stefan Sick

Stefan Sick (* 1981 in Buxtehude ) is a German cameraman , director and film editor .

Life

Sick studied image design / camera at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . His diploma film CLOSING TIME, directed by Nicole Vögele, premiered at the Locarno Festival 2018 and won the Premio speciale della giuria Ciné + in the Cineasti del presente section. During his studies, Sick was mainly responsible for the image design for creative documentaries and his work was represented at renowned film festivals around the world. In 2014 he was awarded the prize for “Best Camera” for NEBEL (Premiere: Berlinale ) at the Sehsuchten Student Film Festival.

He works as a freelance cameraman and filmmaker. The documentary DAS INNERE LEUCHTEN is his directorial debut. The film celebrated its premiere at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival in the Perspective German Cinema section and was nominated for the Grimme Prize in 2020 .

Sick lives in Schwäbisch Hall.
