Stefan Sternberg

Stefan Sternberg (born April 28, 1984 in Grabow ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2013 to 2018 he was mayor of the city of Grabow in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Since 2018 he's district administrator of the district Ludwigslust-Parchim .

Life and work

After graduating from the Fritz Reuter secondary school, Stefan Sternberg completed commercial training in a merchant's house in Grabow, which he completed early with distinction. He then completed an apprenticeship as a commercial specialist with a focus on personnel management as part of a gifted program from the IHK in Schwerin .

He then gained a wide range of professional experience in various positions, for example as a project manager and as a consultant to the management of the vocational training center Start GmbH, which belongs to the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.

Stefan Sternberg is married and has two children.

Political party

Stefan Sternberg has been a member of the SPD since 2012, deputy chairman of the SPD state association Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since 2015 and deputy chairman of the SPD district association Ludwigslust-Parchim since 2016.

Political career

In 2002 Stefan Sternberg became a member of the Grabow city ​​council for the first time , as a non-party member of the SPD parliamentary group . In the following time he was chairman of the committee for social affairs, culture and education as well as deputy head of the Grabow office. Furthermore, as a representative of the district sports association Ludwigslust eV, he was a member of the youth welfare committee of the then Ludwigslust district .

In 2011 he was elected to the district council for the first time for the SPD parliamentary group . From then on, Sternberg was chairman of the committee for education, culture and sport.

In 2013 he became full-time mayor of the city of Grabow; Since 2018 he has been the successor of Rolf Christiansen District Administrator of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.
