Stefan Wackerbauer (born November 2, 1995 in Gundihausen ) is a German automobile racing driver .

Career

Wackerbauer began his motorsport career in 2003 in kart racing , in which he remained active until 2011. In 2010 he won the shootout for the Formula BMW Talent Cup and thus received a starting place for the 2011 season. In 2011, Wackerbauer achieved overall victory in this series. This gave him a grant for the German Formula 3 Cup , which he did not take advantage of. Instead, he was accepted into the Red Bull funding program. At the end of 2011 he competed for Koiranen Motorsport in the British Formula Renault winter series . He was 19th in the drivers' championship.

In 2012, Wackerbauer drove for Koiranen Motorsport in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup . While his teammate Daniil Kwjat finished second overall, Wackerbauer reached eleventh place overall. He also drove for Koiranen Motorsport in the Alpine Formula Renault. In this he achieved a podium place and was twelfth in the drivers' championship. His teammate Kvyat won this series. In 2013, Wackerbauer initially stayed in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. He was no longer promoted by Red Bull and switched to Interwetten Racing . After the second race weekend, he left the series and did not take part in races for the rest of the season.

In 2014 Wackerbauer was again without a permanent commitment. He competed in GT racing for various teams in two ADAC GT Masters events .

In 2015 Stefan Wackerbauer took part again in the ADAC GT Masters , but this time he drove for the entire season in the C. Abt Racing team . Together with last year's champion Kelvin van der Linde , they achieved a victory in an Audi R8 LMS ultra with starting number 1.
