Maimuna , full name Maimuna Amadou Muraschko ( Russian Маймуна Амаду Мурашко ; born May 28, 1980 in Leningrad ), is a Belarusian violinist of Russian origin and participant in the Eurovision Song Contest .

Maimuna's father comes from Mali , her mother was born in Belarus, but Maimuna was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. As a child the family moved to Mali, but since Maimuna could not stand the hot desert climate, she moved to her grandmother in Mahiljou, Belarus, and grew up there.

Career

In the course of her career as a violinist, she took part in various competitions and festivals, including the Young Virtuoso in 1990 in Kiev and Music of Hope in 1995.

On December 5, 2014 it was announced that she and the singer Uzari , who is popular in Belarus, will take part in the Belarusian Eurovision Song Contest preliminary decision Eurofest with the song Time (in German: time). They won the show with 76 points and third place in the televoting. With the five jurors they achieved the maximum number of points in three cases. However, the duo could not qualify for the final after the first semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna .
