Uzari ( Belarusian Юзары , Jusary ; Russian Юзари , Jusari ; bourgeois Belarusian Юрый Віктаравіч Наўроцкі , Juryj Wiktarawitsch Naurozki ; Russian Юрий Викторович Навроцкий , Yuri Viktorovich Nawrozki ; English Yuri Navrotsky * 11. May 1991 in Minsk , Byelorussian SSR , USSR ) is a Belarusian singer and songwriter and participant in the Eurovision Song Contest .

life and career

Uzari was born under the name Jurij Naurozki on May 11, 1991 in the Belarusian capital Minsk. In 2012 (5th place) and 2013 (8th place) he took part in Eurofest , the Belarusian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , but did not win.

He composed the song Sokal , with which the singer Nadseja Missjakowa competed for Belarus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 , but she only reached 7th place out of 16 places.

In 2014 he took part again at the Eurofest and was victorious together with the violinist Maimuna and the song Time (televoting: 3rd place / jury voting 1st place). After performing at the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna , the duo could not qualify for the final.

After the competition, Uzari released other versions of Time, including a. an acoustic version and a rock version.

He composed the song Schah sa Schahom (German step by step) for the singer Mascha Nowik, who competed with the song on August 21, 2015 at the Junior Eurofest (preliminary decision for the JESC ).

Since 2016 he has been the singer of the rock music project of the same name, Uzari , which also includes guitarist Dima Markarjan and producer and drummer Dima Piwen.

In April 2019 Uzari released his first album Padziaka Serdca including the single of the same name. His second album Say Wow in English followed in spring 2020 .
