VAL is a Belarusian duo that mainly produces music from the fields of house , R&B , pop and hip-hop .

history

The duet was founded in early 2016 by the singer Valeria Gribusova and the musician and music producer Vladislav Pashkevich. Since mid-2016, the project has been produced by the ToneTwins team, which includes musician and producer Andrei Katikov, a graduate of Berklee College of Music .

On May 1st, 2016 VAL released her first song Кто ты есть (Who are you). In September 2016, the second single Ветер во сне (Wind in a dream) was released. The authors of the song are Andrei Katikov and Alexey Gordeev. On January 1, 2017, the video for the song Ветер во сне was released.

On February 28, 2020, the duet won the Eurofest 2020 and should represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with their song Da vidna . It would only have been the second time that the country had presented a song in Belarusian . The ESC had to be canceled on March 18, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
