Wilfrid Emmett Doyle

Wilfrid Emmett Doyle (born February 18, 1913 in Calgary , † September 14, 2003 in Kelowna ) was Bishop of Nelson .

Life

The Archbishop of Edmonton , John Hugh MacDonald , ordained him a priest on June 5, 1938 .

Pope John XXIII appointed him Bishop of Nelson on November 9, 1958 . The Apostolic Delegate in Canada , Giovanni Panico , consecrated him bishop on December 3 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Michael Cornelius O'Neill , Archbishop of Regina , and Francis Allen Valentine , auxiliary bishop in Toronto .

He attended every session of the Second Vatican Council . On November 6, 1989, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
