Stefan Weinzierl (musician)

Stefan Weinzierl (born February 7, 1985 in Günzburg ) is a German musician (drums, percussion).

Life

Stefan Weinzierl first studied music pedagogy , musicology and educational science at the University of Regensburg (state examination). This was followed by an artistic percussion course at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater , which he completed in 2010 with a master’s degree.

During his master's degree, he became an endorser for the Dutch percussion manufacturer ADAMS.

Stefan Weinzierl appears mainly as a solo musician or in changing, chamber music ensembles. He often works with artists from other fields. So z. B. in projects with the actors Ulrike Folkerts , Anja Topf , Wanja Mues , Rolf Becker and Ludwig Blochberger . Weinzierl uses a large number of percussion instruments at his concerts and often works with electronics. He interprets compositions mainly by contemporary composers, as well as his own compositions and improvisations. His projects led u. a. to guest performances at the Greatest Hits Festival for contemporary music of the Elbphilharmonie concerts, at the enter 4th festival Prague, the NIME Oslo and the San Francisco Symphony. With Dockside Drums he has been creating his own concert series in Hamburg's Hafencity since 2015. On October 3, 2019, Weinzierl was the solo musician at the ARD television service on the Day of German Unity in Kiel.

Weinzierl produces drum recordings for media productions of all kinds in his recording studio in Hamburg. He works as a studio musician and / or composer and producer. For the Silberfuchs publishing house he composed and produced the music for the audio books Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Hear.erleben.enthaben , Martin Luther: Freiheit. Grace. Human and for Buchfunk Verlag I had to get out. Ways out of the GDR .

Stefan Weinzierl also designs and directs music education programs. As a lecturer at workshops he was a. a. active in the BeatObsession project of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and in the field of team building for companies.
