Stefania Podgórska
Stefania Podgórska-Burzmińska (born June 2, 1921 in Lipa, Powiat Przemyski ; † September 29, 2018 in Los Angeles ) was a Righteous Among the Nations .
After her father died in 1938 after a serious illness, Stefania Podgórska began working in Przemyśl in 1939 in the cloth goods shop of the Jewish family Diamant . During the German occupation of Poland in 1939–1945 , she hid 13 Jews in the attic of the house in which the shop was located - all of them experienced the liberation. In 1961 she emigrated to the United States , where she married Josef Diamant, one of those she had saved.
In 1979 Stefania Podgórska was awarded the Righteous Among the Nations Medal by the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial .
She died in Los Angeles at the age of 97.
