Stefano Gervasoni

Stefano Gervasoni (born July 26, 1962 in Bergamo ) is an Italian composer.

He completed his composition studies with Luca Lombardi , Niccolò Castiglioni and Azio Corghi at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan in 1989. Encounters with Luigi Nono and Helmut Lachenmann had a strong influence on his further work. In 1992 and 1993 he studied electro-acoustic music and musical computer science in Paris at the invitation of IRCAM . In 1995 and 1996 the Villa Medici in Rome named him composer in residence. In 2006 Gervasoni lived and worked as a DAAD scholarship holder in Berlin. Since 2007 he has been Professor of Composition at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP), succeeding Emmanuel Nunes .
