Stefano Sottile (born January 28, 1998 in Borgosesia ) is an Italian athlete who specializes in the high jump .
Athletic career
Stefano Sottile gained his first international experience in 2014 when he finished sixth at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing with a skipped 2.02 m. The following year he won the World Youth Championships in Cali with a height of 2.20 m. In 2016 he retired from the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz with 2.09 m in qualification, as well as at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships in Grosseto with 2.05 m. In 2018 he won the silver medal behind his compatriot Christian Falocchi at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo with a height of 2.19 m . The following year he was fourth at the U23 European Championships in Gävle with 2.20 m and then also took part in the World Championships in Doha , where he was eliminated with 2.26 m in qualification .
In 2019 Sottile became Italian outdoor champion and 2018 indoor champion.
