Steffen Hausdörfer

Steffen Hausdörfer (* in Jena ) is a German basketball official and former player.

Life

Hausdörfer competed in athletics before switching to basketball. At the age of 17 he made his debut in the upper league of the German Democratic Republic at the HSG Uni Jena .

In the 1991/92 season he was the first player from the former GDR to play in the basketball league . The 1.95 meter long Hausdörfer played  seven short appearances in the Bundesliga for Steiner Bayreuth , at the same time he worked for the team's namesake, the company Steiner-Optik . He left Bayreuth at the end of the 91/92 season and moved to SSV unit Weissenfels . Hausdörfer stayed there for two years, after which he played for TuS Jena .

Until 2009, Hausdörfer was the managing director of Baskets Jena GmbH, the operator of the Science City Jena basketball team . During his tenure, among other things, he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2007. He then worked for Brose Bamberg in marketing and, from 2014, he was also a sports advisor for the regional league team BC Erfurt. He also worked as a players agent.

In 2015 he worked for FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the sponsorship department.
