Steffen Hertwig

Steffen Hertwig (born August 2, 1969 in Heilbronn - Sontheim ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Steffen Hertwig, son of Walter and Ingeborg Hertwig, was born in Heilbronn-Sontheim and grew up with his two brothers Michael and Ralph in neighboring Talheim . The qualified lawyer worked for the Würth Group in Künzelsau , most recently as Head of Legal & Compliance at the Würth Electronics Group in Niedernhall since 2007 . Long-time SPD member Hertwig officially stood as an independent candidate for Neckarsulm's mayoral election, but was supported by the local Greens and the SPD.

On September 18, 2016, he was elected Lord Mayor of Neckarsulm with 52.5% in the first ballot . His predecessor Joachim Scholz lost after an eight-year term with 42.9% of the vote.
