The company Stegmann Emmentaler Käsereien GmbH , based in Kempten (Allgäu), is a milk processing company. Stegmann is considered to be the leading manufacturer of Emmentaler in Germany. The dairy has been part of the French Entremont Alliance since 1997 , which in turn was taken over by Sodiaal in 2011 .

The group comes from the cooperation between the cheese dairies Stegmann & Roth (founded in 1900) in Altusried and Adolf Stegmann (founded in 1906) in Görisried .

Locations

The head office with the administration of the company is in Kempten. The production sites are in Altusried, where 150 people work in production and packing.

Another production site is located in Reutte, Austria . The Reutte milk factory, which Adolf Stegmann took over in 1996 , was founded in 1946 by the Tyrolean Dairy Association.

In 2009 the Reichertshausen location was closed and 59 employees were made redundant.
