Riser belt (timber construction)
In southern Germany , a riser is a diagonal strut in timber construction , which leads from a horizontal threshold over a vertical support to a horizontal frame . It occurs mainly in half-timbered buildings . In the roof , it occurs particularly on standing chairs , which were mostly made in the 15th or early 16th century.
