Stein Vidar Thun (born May 9, 1981 ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Thun, who started for the Klæbu IL , ran his first race in the Continental Cup in Gaasbu in December 2002 . There he finished 110th over 10 km classic. He made his debut in the World Cup in February 2004 in Trondheim , which he finished in 60th place in the sprint. In March 2005 he got his first World Cup points with the 28th place in the sprint in Drammen . In the 2008/09 season he reached three top ten placements, including second place in the sprint in Keuruu and in Riga , seventh place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup . In January 2009 he achieved his best placement in the World Cup with 12th place in the sprint in Otepää . In January 2010 he came in third place in the sprint at the Scandinavian Cup in Jõulumäe . At the Norwegian Championships in 2010 he was third with the relay of Klæbu IL. He ran his 11th and last World Cup race in March 2010 in Oslo , which he finished in 64th place in the sprint.
