Skadi Walter
Skadi Walter (born April 18, 1964 in Halle (Saale) ) is a former German speed skater . She started for the German Democratic Republic in 1984 at the Olympic Winter Games and during her active time she competed for SC Einheit Dresden .
Career
At the GDR championships in 1982 she secured the silver medal in the sprint all-around competition behind Christa Rothenburger . At the GDR championships in 1983 she won the silver medal over the 500 meters behind Karin Enke . At the GDR championships in 1984 she took third place.
Between 1981 and 1985 she took part in the speed skating sprint world championship and achieved her best result with fifth place at the speed skating sprint world championship in 1983 . She was nominated by the National Olympic Committee of the GDR for the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , where she finished fifth over the 500 meters.

Her daughter Bianca Walter is a successful German short tracker who became European champion in 2010 .
