The Steinbachpfad begins at the sports field in Steinbach. It leads across the landscape of the Blies-Oster ridge, which is part of the Saar-Nahe mountainous region . After one kilometer, the path reaches the Betzelhübel panorama tower , from which the hiker's gaze sweeps over the northern Saarland with the striking Schaumberg , the Hunsrück and the district town of Neunkirchen . In the west you can see the headframe of the Göttelborn mine and the eastern part of the Saarland coal mining area, in the south you can see the heights of the Sankt Ingbert-Kirkeler forest area . To the east of the city of Ottweiler, the path, which on this passage is congruent with the Schauinslandweg for some time, leads over orchards and reaches the Kerbacher Loch running along the edge of the forest. After leaving the Kerbach, the path climbs to descend again in the forest and reach the Oster valley . Here the path is identical for about a kilometer to the premium Mühlenpfad hiking trail. At the confluence of the Steinbach in the Oster, the path leads up along the Steinbach and reaches the outskirts of Steinbach. Entering the forest again you reach the height of the Wehlberg and soon afterwards you reach the starting point of the path.
