The Betzelhübel panorama tower is an observation tower not far from Steinbach in the Saarland district of Neunkirchen .

The panorama tower is about 800 m west of Steinbach, a district of Ottweiler , on the unwooded summit plateau of the 425 m high Betzelhübel. The premium hiking trails “Steinbachpfad” and Schauinslandweg lead past the tower, and the Flowtrail Ottweiler mountain bike route begins not far to the west .

The approximately 24 meter high panoramic tower was 2,013 in aluminum - framed structure built and has an edge length of four by five meters. The staircase comprises 120 steps, which lead over eleven intermediate landings to the 20 m high, L-shaped viewing platform . To stabilize the staircase, steel cable tensions are attached under the platforms and stair segments.
On the viewing platform there are four panorama boards about two meters high, above them a flat inclined aluminum roof as weather protection. From here there is a very good all-round view of large parts of the Saarland, of the Hunsrück mountain ranges and of Ottweiler.
particularities
The tower is accessible from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and due to its filigree construction, a maximum of 12 people can enter it at the same time.
The construction of the tower was largely financed by donations , and the steps on the stairs are provided with donors' name tags.
