Horshaga stone chest

The Horshaga stone box ( Swedish Horshaga Hällkista ) is located south of Gislaved in the province of Jönköpings län in Småland in Sweden .

The approximately 4000 year old megalithic stone box (or large box) is one of the oldest and the smaller of the genus and is located in the forest not far from Riksväg 26 . It is not rectangular like most boxes, but slightly polygonal. The bearing stones of different sizes and one of probably two or three cap stones have been preserved.

About ten kilometers south is the Smålandsstenar burial ground .
