The often Steinkjerbrücke called, actually nameless road bridge in the Norwegian city and municipality Steinkjer in the province ( Fylke ) Trøndelag the local road leads Nedre Mølleveg on Steinkjerelva.
The bridge designed by Per Tveit and opened in 1963 is considered the first network arch bridge in the world.
The bridge, which is a bit to the east of the town center, should not be confused with the three bridges in the town center: the actual Steinkjerbrua , a prestressed concrete bridge with four openings that leads Kongens gate over the Steinkjerelva, the steel railway bridge and the Sneppenbrua with six openings , which leads the European route 6 across the water.
The 93.75 m long and 10 m wide Steinkjer Bridge has 79.75 m wide steel network arches with a triangular hollow cross-section, which are stiffened by a K-shaped wind bracing. The roadway girder is a thin prestressed concrete slab reinforced at the edges .
In 2007, Per Tveit reported at a conference that the bridge was still in good condition.
