The stone circle of Cartronbore is located in the townland of the same name ( Irish Cartrún an Bhóthair ) on a hill about 2.0 km east of Granard in the northeast of County Longford in Ireland . It is one of almost 200 stone circles in Ireland. The Irish stone circles are between three and 60 meters in diameter and are primarily concentrated in Counties Tyrone (Northern Ireland) and Cork .

The Cartronbore stone circle consists of around nine glacial erratic boulders. Four of the stones are boulders and only two of the remaining stones are upright. Some of the fallen stones are quite large. One is about 2.3 meters long.

To the northeast of Granard is the Cloghchurnel stone circle .
