The small monument is located about 750 meters northeast of Wallesau. It's there on the edge of the forest in the hallway "In der Heide".

The stone cross in Latin form is made of reddish sandstone , is hardly weathered and has the dimensions 88 × 76 × 19 cm. The front and back are smooth and there are no incisions or reliefs on the cross. The cross is the post-war replica of a lost, historical atonement cross. It was moved here from its original location further west.

history

Nothing is known about when it was created.

Sage 1: The three crosses near Wallesau supposedly had a connection and were erected with one another. The following event should be based. Once upon a time, three boys were so enemies that they hit each other with clubs . The first sank, fatally hit, where the stone cross stands on the way to the Steiner-Weiher (monument, D-5-76-143-207). The second ended on the way to Eckersmühlen , near the current location of the cross. The third boy died from his injuries on the old route from Wallesau to Roth, the so-called Reisweg . This cross is missing today.

Legend 2: This legend tells of three knights who are said to have killed each other with swords on the Wallesauer corridor .

Legend 3: In the forest between Heideck and Wallesau a young man is said to have been stabbed to death at the beginning of the 17th century, which two boys were accused of who were caught and brought before the Heideck judge Ramspeck .
