Stylianos "Stelios" Poulianitis ( Greek Στυλιανός "Στέλιος" Πουλιανίτης , born April 3, 1995 in Trikala ) is a Greek basketball player who is 1.90 m tall and is used in the position of Point Guard - Shooting Guard .

Career

At club level

Poulianitis learned basketball at the AKTH Asteria sports academy. After he came of age, he was signed by the Aris Saloniki basketball club in the summer of 2013 . First he played for the U-19 team of the club and also came to the first team in the Basket League , the highest Greek division for club basketball, in a total of eight games for various short appearances. In the following season 2014/15 he was part of the fixed rotation of the senior squad, was used in a total of 19 games, but was granted little playing time. For more match practice and, above all, more playing time, he was awarded to the Koroivos Amaliadas in the 2015/16 season .

He then started his 2016/17 season again at Aris, playing for them at the start of the season against Trikala BC ARIES , but had to reckon with the loss of his regular place in the rotation after Aris had strengthened himself with Vladimiros Giankovits from the fifth match day . On November 4, 2016, the separation of Aris and Poulianitis was announced, who was presented a few hours later as a new addition to the Trikala BC ARIES.

National team

Poulianitis went through all of Greece's youth national teams. He was part of the Greek selection at the U-16 European Championship 2011 in the Czech Republic and was a participant in the U-20 European Championship 2014 in Greece and the U-20 European Championship 2015 in Italy . He has not yet been nominated for the senior squad .

Stelios Poulianitis is the son of former basketball player Vangelis Poulianitis , who previously played for the Trikala basketball club, among others.
