Vladimiros Giankovits ( Greek Βλαδίμηρος Γιάνκοβιτς ; born March 3, 1990 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a Greek basketball player and son of the Serbian basketball player Slobodan "Boban" Jankovic, who died in 2006 .

Career

Vladimiros Giankovits began his career in 2007 at Panionios Athens where he was under contract for six years, with the exception of the 2008/2009 season. In 2013 he and his teammate Nikolaos Pappas moved to the Greek record champions Panathinaikos Athens , where he won the national cup competition in addition to the championship in his first year. After his contract with the Athenians had expired, he moved to the Spanish ACB league in the summer of 2016 and signed a one-year contract with a club option to another with Valencia BC . At the beginning of November he switched to Aris Saloniki on loan . In the summer of 2017, Giankovits was hired by MoraBanc Andorra to replace his compatriot Thanasis Antetokounmpo who had left.

The 2018/19 season brought him back to Greece and Giankovits put himself in the service of Holargos KO .

National team

With the junior national teams of Greece Giankovits took part in several world and European championships. He celebrated his greatest successes in 2008 and 2009 when he won the gold medal. In 2013 he was appointed to the men's squad for the first time in the run-up to the European Championship.
