Stellan Åke Westerdahl (born November 10, 1935 in Gothenburg ; † August 27, 2018 there ) was a Swedish sailor .
successes
Stellan Westerdahl took part in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich with Pelle Petterson in the Star boat class . With 44 total points they were ultimately tied with Willi Kuhweide and Karsten Meyer from Germany, but were classified in second place behind the Australian winning boat because, unlike Kuhweide and Meyer, they won one of the seven races. You thus received the silver medal. In 1977 in Marstrand and 1979 in Seattle he was world champion with Pelle Petterson in the 6-meter class and in 1968 and 1972 European champion in the star boat.
After his active career, Westerdahl worked in Pelle Petterson's yacht building company.
