Pelle Petterson (* 31 July 1932 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish yachtsman , sailboat - designer and industrial designer .

Life

Petterson won with Holger Sundström at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo the bronze medal in sailing the Star class and in 1972 at the Olympic Summer Games in Munich and Kiel with Stellan Westerdahl the silver medal just ahead of Wilhelm cow pasture . In 1969 he became world champion in the star boat class, in this class he was also multiple European champion. He has also been successful in other boat classes in the international regatta scene.

Petterson is also known as a designer of sailing boats, for example for the company Maxi Yachts (cruising yachts), the Italian Vega boats or the open keel boat c55 .

As early as 1957, when Frua was still in service , he designed the sporty Volvo P1800 coupé . His other work in industrial and product design includes work for Electrolux , Flymo, Rosengren, Volvo Penta boat engines, as well as designs for furniture, door and window fittings and toilets.
