Stephanie "Step" Julia Laube (born May 6, 1970 in Karlsruhe ) is a German radio play author , director and audio producer.

Life

After graduating from the Markgrafen-Gymnasium Karlsruhe , Laube completed a degree at the universities of Hamburg , KMU Leipzig and FU Berlin with a major in German and literature . She took theater / film studies (as a 1st minor) and journalism / journalism (as a 2nd minor) as minor subjects. In 1997, she obtained a Magistra Artium degree in this combination of subjects . She also took the subject philosophy, but dropped out of this course after six semesters.

After graduating from high school, she began her radio career at Radio Residenz in Karlsruhe and during her studies in Hamburg with the student project UniRadioHamburg, here already with a focus on radio plays and features . During her studies, she worked from 1992 to 1995 as an assistant director in the radio play of the Sender Freies Berlin (SFB). Her mentor and trainer was radio play director Peter Groeger . After completing her studies, from 1997 to 2001 she worked as a freelance producer at Berliner Rundfunk 91.4 in program production.

Since 1999 she has been working as a freelance writer, director and audio producer with a focus on word production in the audio production company TonInTon-Audioproduktion, Berlin, which was founded together with Martin Schubert .

In 2004 she published “Guitar-Lea meets Attila”, the first episode of her ten-part children's radio play series “Guitar-Lea's Time Travel”, an edutainment series about historical celebrities. The series was u. a. with the radio play award in bronze (audience award) and silver (critic award) in the category "best radio play series children / youth".

In 2009 ETA Hoffmann's famous story Nutcracker and Mouse King von Laube was first implemented as a radio play.
