Martin Schubert (born October 21, 1960 in Pirna ) is a German composer , musician , audio producer and speaker .

Life

In 1969 Martin Schubert began a musical education in the piano subject at the Erfurt Music School, initially 7 years in the classical style, then 4 years in the subject “upper level dance music”. From 1975 to 1982 Schubert played as a keyboard player in amateur bands in Erfurt and Leipzig. In 1979 he graduated from the Humboldt School (Erfurt) . In 1979 he began a traineeship at radio in the GDR and then studied musicology at the Humboldt University in Berlin . During his studies he was also the musical director of the theater group in the Theater Studies section , setting music to music for it in the mid-1980s a. a. Texts by Brechts Baal and accompanied the GDR-wide performances of this new version on the piano for several years.

Schubert began working as a presenter and music journalist at DT 64 in 1987 . He moderated and designed primarily the programs “Notenbude” (later: “TonArt”), “Oldie Party” and the film music program “SoundTrack”. During this time he wrote his first own compositions, which were produced on and for radio in the GDR ( instrumental music and program opening credits). He worked u. a. with Tobias Künzel , Sebastian Krumbiegel , Matthias Lauschus or Ralf Templin.

From 1990 to 1991, parallel to his work at DT 64, he presented the television program "SOS - The Super Oldie Show - from ABBA to Zappa" as a presenter in the DFF . After a short detour as a presenter at 104.6 RTL , he began working as a presenter and producer at Berliner Rundfunk 91.4 in 1993 . During this time he composed a. a. Jingle packages for the station, which he produced in the Dutch studio "Top Format".

Between 1995 and 1998 Schubert also acted as the station voice for the station. Since 1999 Martin Schubert has been working as a freelance composer , arranger , audio producer and speaker in the audio production company TonInTon-Audioproduktion in Berlin, which was founded together with Step Laube . Here his compositional focus is on radio play soundtracks and functional music for audio books , radio spots and background music . He also lends his voice to numerous national and international companies as a speaker.
