Stepan Chernovetskyi
Stepan Leonidowytsch Tschernowezkyj ( Ukrainian Степан Леонідович Черновецький , as Stepan Chernovetskyi Leonidowych transcribed; * born 28. October 1978 in Tbilisi , Georgia ) is a Ukrainian businessman , investor and founder of Chernovetskyi Investment Group (CIG).
Life
In 2003 he graduated from the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kiev with a degree in law.
Activity in finance
From 1997 to 2006 Stepan Tschernowezkyj worked in the Ukrainian "PRAVEX BANK", which was founded by his father, Leonid Tschernowezkyj . Among other things, he was a customer manager, then headed various departments of the bank, and later became senior vice president.
In May 2006 he became chairman of the supervisory board of "PRAVEX BANK".
When the shareholders decided to sell “PRAVEX BANK” in 2007, Stepan Tschernowezkyj himself conducted the negotiations with the Italian bank group Intesa Sanpaolo. A US $ 750 million sale contract was signed in February 2008, and at the time it was one of the largest of its kind in the region.
Chernovetskyi Investment Group (CIG)
Stepan Chernovetskyj is the owner and president of Chernovetskyi Investment Group (CIG), which was founded in 2013 and is engaged in investments in IT projects in e-commerce, healthcare, agriculture and infrastructure. As of September 2018, CIG was one of the largest investment companies in Eastern Europe with investment potential of more than USD 100 million. The company has already implemented over 30 projects in seven countries.
In 2017 СIG invested in InnerChef (India) for the delivery of ready meals and in Kray Technologies (Ukraine) for the production of industrial drones for agricultural companies.
In 2018, Stepan Chernovetskyj was one of the 100 richest people in Ukraine, according to the magazine “Focus”. Together with Leonid Tschernowezkyj they occupy the 20th position in the list, their combined wealth is valued at 353 million USD.
According to the business magazine Focus, Stepan and Leonid Chernovetskyj were the 21st richest person in Ukraine in 2019 with a total net worth of $ 423 million.

Between 2008 and 2009 Tschernowezkyj was a member of the faction "Block of Leonid Chernovetskyi" deputy of the city council of Kiev. He has given up his parliamentary activities ahead of schedule. As of September 2018, Stepan Chernovetsky was not a member of any political party.
"Spanish case"
In July 2016, Stepan Chernovetskyj was arrested by the Spanish police as part of the special operation to combat financial crimes "Variola". All eleven arrested people were charged with money laundering amounting to 10 million euros.
In August 2016, the Barcelona Court of Appeal released Stepan Chernovetskyi from custody based on the lack of detailed evidence in the arrest record.
In October 2019, the criminal case (preliminary investigation) against Stepan Chernovetskyj was closed by the Barcelona court after the court found the lawful origin of the investments in Spain and the lack of evidence of criminal proceedings.
It was reported in the Spanish media that the proceedings against Stepan Chernovetskyi had been closed in part on the basis of the reports on the origin of the money.
The public prosecutor appealed against the decision of the Barcelona Court of October 30, 2019, which closed the criminal proceedings (preliminary investigation) against Stepan Chernovetskyi.

Sports
Stepan Tschernowezkyj heads the promotion company "Elite Boxing Promotion", which deals with the organization of boxing tournaments and boxing development in Ukraine. The company has been operating since 2005 and has carried out 217 individual fights, including 21 title fights. The leading boxer of "Elite Boxing Promotion", Viktor Postol , is a former world champion of the WBC light welterweight.

Chernovetskyj's father Leonid Tschernowezkyj is a Ukrainian politician and entrepreneur, his mother Alina Aivazova is an entrepreneur.
Tschernowezkyj is married and has four children.
