Viktor Postol Wassylowytsch ( Ukrainian Віктор Васильович Постол * 16th January 1984 in velyka dymerka ) is a Ukrainian professional boxer and former WBC world champion at light welterweight . He took 1st place in the "Ranking of the best light welterweights" of the renowned boxing magazine The Ring . and was trained by the American Freddie Roach . He is currently being trained by Alexander Polishchuk and managed by Vadim Kornilov .
Professional career
Postol decided his professional debut in the Bosnian city of Brčko against the Hungarian Zsolt Vicze on October 1, 2007 through a technical knockout in round 2. In 2011 he won the vacant WBC International silver title against the Russian Karen Tevosyan (19-3). In 2012 he defended this belt against, among others, Jose Lopez and Yvan Mendy, each with a unanimous decision on points.
On March 21, 2013 he won the now-lost international belt of the WBC again, this time against Henry Lundy. In the same year he beat Bahrom Payozov (21-1), Ignacio Mendoza (38-7) and Behzod Nabiev (22-6) each on points. In May 2014. He won over the Turks Selcuk Aydin (26-2) o by classic. K. in round 11.
In April of the following year he won against Jake Giuriceo (17-2) on points. On October 3rd of the same year he met Lucas Matthysse - this battle was about the vacant world title of the WBC association. Postol knocked out Matthysse in round 10 and thus won the belt.
On July 23, 2016, he lost the title by a unanimous point defeat to the American Terence Crawford .
