Sweden took part in the 2004 Summer Olympics in the Greek capital, Athens, with 115 athletes, 53 women and 62 men.

Since 1896 it was Sweden's 24th participation in the Summer Olympics .

Flag bearer

The swimmer Lars Frölander carried the flag of Sweden during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .

Medalist

With four won gold, two silver and a bronze medal, the Swedish team finished in 19th place in the medal table .
