Lars Arne Frölander (born May 26, 1974 in Borlänge ) is a Swedish swimmer .

Career

He won the gold medal in the 100 m butterfly at the 2000 Olympic Games , for which he was also honored with the Svenska Dagbladet gold medal. At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and at the 1996 Games in Atlanta , he won the silver medal with the Swedish 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. At the 2001 World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka , he surprisingly won the gold medal over 100 m butterfly in front of the favorite Ian Crocker . With the Swedish 4 × 100 m layer relay he won the bronze medal at the European Swimming Championships in Eindhoven in 2008 .
