Caeleb Remel Dressel (born August 16, 1996 in Green Cove Springs , Florida ) is an American swimmer. He is a specialist in short freestyle courses and butterfly courses .

Dressel won two gold medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro as well as seven gold medals at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest , six gold medals at the 2018 Short Course World Championships in Hangzhou and another six gold medals at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju . At the 2019 World Cup, he improved Michael Phelps' world record over 100 meters butterfly by 32 hundredths of a second. He is also the co-owner of six world records in mixed and short course relays. At the final of the International Swimming League 2019 in Las Vegas , Dressel defeated Florent Manaudou in the 50 meter freestyle and improved Manaudou's world record by 2 hundredths of a second.
