Benjamin Marshall "Ben" Wildman-Tobriner (born September 21, 1984 in San Francisco ) is an American swimmer .
He surprisingly won the gold medal in the 50 m freestyle at the 2007 Swimming World Championships in Melbourne . At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 Wildman-Tobriner won the gold medal with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay, for which he had competed in the preliminary run. The later final cast were Michael Phelps , Garrett Weber-Gale , Cullen Jones and Jason Lezak . He also finished fifth in the 50m freestyle.
