The Short Course World Championships in 2002 in swimming took place from 3. bis 7. April 2002 in Moscow instead and were from the International Swimming Federation FINA organized.

The competitions were held in the renovated Olympiski Sports Complex , where the swimming competitions of the 1980 Summer Olympics were held. Seven new world records were set during these world championships.
