Anna Josefin Lillhage (born March 15, 1980 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish swimmer .

Career

Lillhage celebrated her greatest successes on the short course over the 200 meter freestyle course and together with the Swedish freestyle and medley relay.

She took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , 2000 in Sydney , 2004 in Athens and 2008 in Beijing . Her greatest success was winning the bronze medal with the Swedish 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay in 2000.

In 1996 she was ninth with the 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay.

In 2004 she was 14th in the 100 meters and eighth in the 200 meter freestyle course. She also reached the finals with the Swedish 4 × 100 meters and 4 × 200 meters freestyle relay and ended up seventh and eighth respectively.

In 2008 she reached the semifinals in the 100 meters and 100 meters freestyle and ended up in eleventh and 15th place. She finished eighth in the Swedish 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay.

She won her only individual world title at the 2004 Short Track World Championships in Indianapolis over the 200 meter freestyle.

A year later she improved the more than twelve-year-old 200 meter freestyle short course European record of the German Franziska van Almsick by 1.2 seconds to 01: 54.64 minutes.

Furthermore, she set a new European record in winning gold medals with the Swedish 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay at the World Short Course Championships in Gothenburg in 1997 and in Hong Kong in 1999 .
