The 20th World Swimming Championships are scheduled to take place in Doha , Qatar in 2023 .

The World Swimming Federation (FINA) awarded on 31 January 2016 Hungarian Budapest was the World Championships in 2023 in the capital of the Emirate of Qatar to Doha at the Persian Gulf . After Gwangju 2019 and Fukuoka 2021, the World Cup would take place in Asia for the third time in a row .
