Petria Thomas

Petria Thomas (born August 25, 1975 in Lismore , Australia ) is an Australian swimmer. She is a three-time Olympic champion and nine-time world champion.

At the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 , she was the first ever athlete to win all three (50, 100 and 200 m) medal decisions in the butterfly swimming position, when the 50 m course was also introduced as a competition there for the first time. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , Thomas won the gold medal in the 100 m butterfly. She also became Olympic champion with the Australian relay teams in the 4 × 100 m freestyle and 4 × 100 m medley and won the silver medal in the 200 m butterfly.
