Mireia Belmonte García (born November 10, 1990 in Badalona ) is a Spanish swimmer and Olympic champion.

In 2006 Belmonte García was Junior World Champion over the 400 m freestyle and the 400 m medley. In addition, she was European Junior Champion over the same distances.

Only one year later she was runner- up in the European Short Course Championships in Debrecen in 2007 behind Italian Alessia Filippi over the 400 m individual medley.

2008 was the most successful year so far in Mireia Belmonte García's young career. First, with a new European championship record over the 200 m individual medley, she became European champion at the European swimming championships in 2008 in Eindhoven and then, almost three weeks later, at the short course world championships in Manchester in 2008 , with a new European record she became vice world champion over the 200 m medley.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Belmonte swam a silver medal in the 200 m butterfly and 800 m freestyle. She won the gold medal and another bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in the 200 m butterfly and 400 m medley. Furthermore, she achieved a gold medal at the 2017 swimming world championships over 200 meters butterfly and a silver medal behind Katie Ledecky in the discipline 1500 meters freestyle.
