Liu Zige ( Chinese : 刘 子 歌, Liú Zǐgē; born March 31, 1989 in Shanghai ) is a Chinese swimmer.

Career

Her national breakthrough came when she took first place at the 2007 Chinese Championships in Chongqing over 200 m butterfly. She made her international debut at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , where she surprisingly won the gold medal over the 200 m butterfly in a world record time.

At the 2009 World Championships in Rome, she swam over 200 m butterfly under her world record time in Beijing, but still only came second.
