Sweden participated in the 1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix with a delegation of 31 athletes in 5 sports. The Swedish NOK had registered 40 athletes for the games, of which 31 took part in competitions. An athlete took part in the Olympic Games for the second time:

Results: The Swedes had hopes for a medal especially in figure skating , curling and ice hockey . Curling only got the status of an official Olympic competition retrospectively in 2006, so that the silver medal won there was initially only included in the result lists as a trophy for a demonstration competition . In Chamonix, people were still convinced that all competitions held there were Olympic. In figure skating, Gillis Grafström was the only member of the Swedish team to successfully defend his title and meet the expectations placed on him. His sports mate Svea Norén could also have had a place on the podium . The vice world champion from 1922 did not arrive. Bronze in ice hockey was also originally booked. But the players around team captain Birger Holmquist messed up their second Olympic appearance when they surprisingly lost 4: 3 to Great Britain in the final round. The skiers had no chance against the Norwegian overwhelming power. Axel-Herman Nilsson , Torkel Persson , Per-Erik Hedlund , Ernst Alm and the other places between 5 and 12. Exactly the same drama in speed skating. The Finns and the Norwegians dominated the runs in such a way that Axel Blomqvist still did the best with 6th place over the 500 m.
