successes

Fredrik Lööf took part in six Olympic Games . First he started in the boat class Finn-Dinghy , in which he finished fifth in 1992 in Barcelona and 1996 in Atlanta . He then moved into the class of boat Star and was in 2004 in Athens with Anders Ekstrom twelfth. Four years later in Beijing they managed to jump into the medal ranks with 53 points, but lost out against the Brazilians Bruno Prada and Robert Scheidt with the same points in the award of the silver medal, as they finished third in the final medal race ahead of the Swedes who finished tenth. This gave Lööf and Ekström the bronze medal. Lööf finally achieved his greatest Olympic success in 2012 in London . Together with Max Salminen , he was Olympic champion with a total of 32 points ahead of the British and Brazilian boats .

At world championships , Lööf won a total of ten medals, seven of them in the Finn dinghy and three in the star boat. He won the title in the Finn dinghy in Pärnu in 1994 , in Gdansk in 1997 and in Melbourne in 1999 , in the Starboot in 2001 in Medemblik and in 2004 in Gaeta . In 2001, 2002 and 2004 he was also European champion in the Starboot.
