Magnus Liljedahl (born March 6, 1954 in Gothenburg ) is a former American - Swedish sailor .
successes
Magnus Liljedahl took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney with Mark Reynolds in the Star boat class . With 34 points, they finished the regatta one point ahead of the British boat and five points ahead of the Brazilians, making them Olympic champions . At world championships , Liljedahl secured with Reynolds first silver in Marblehead in 1997 and bronze in Punta Ala in 1999 , before winning the title in 2000 in Annapolis . In 1997, 1998 and 2001 he was European champion, 2001 under the Swedish flag. In 2000, the World Sailing Association named Liljedahl and Reynolds World Sailor of the Year .
