Nicolò "Nico" Rode (born January 1, 1912 in Klein-Lötzing , Austria-Hungary , † May 4, 1998 in Verona ) was an Italian regatta sailor .

biography

Together with Agostino Straulino he took part in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London . At the regatta with the star in Torquay , the duo came in fifth. Four years later at the Helsinki Games , the two Italians became Olympic champions. Although they could not defend their title at the next Olympic Games in Melbourne , they won another medal with silver. Rode and Straulino won gold three times at world championships .
