Michael Mackay "Mike" McIntyre , MBE (born June 29, 1956 in Glasgow ) is a former British sailor from Scotland .
successes
Michael McIntyre started at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles in the Finn dinghy and finished the regatta in seventh place. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , he took part with Bryn Vaile in the Star boat class . With two wins in a total of seven races and 45.7 total points, they finished the regatta with 2.3 points ahead of the Americans Mark Reynolds and Hal Haenel and Nelson Falcão and Torben Grael from Brazil, making them Olympic champions . Four years earlier, McIntyre had already won the European title in the Finn dinghy in Władysławowo . He was also British champion three times in Finn.
For his Olympic success he was made a member of the Order of the British Empire .
